Hindustan Waste Treatment

The Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF) stands as a unique integrated center in India, adhering to Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. Operating under the nodal department, the Department of Science, Technology, and Waste Management (DST&WM), and managed by Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), the facility receives waste from northern coastal belt village panchayats and ULBs. M/s. SMC Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. secured the project through a competitive tender process, investing Rs. 145.95 Crore for a 100 TPD Solid Waste Management Facility at Saligao.

SMC Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd. funded the project with a 75:25 debt-equity ratio, featuring 13% and 17% interest rates for debt and equity, respectively. They established a special purpose vehicle, M/s. Hindustan Waste Treatment Pvt. Ltd. (HWTPL), for the project’s execution and a 10-year operation. Inaugurated on May 30, 2016, the Solid Waste Management Facility (SWMF) at Calangute/Saligao, managed by GWMC, adheres to Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. Serving the northern coastal belt village panchayats and ULBs, the SWMF is a unique, compliant, and operational facility since its launch.
